Over the past year, customers have grown accustomed to the convenience and speed of online shopping. They want their orders delivered to their doorsteps within hours rather than days. A recent survey found that over 60% of UK shoppers now expect delivery of an online order within 24 hours. This demand for speed has given rise to a new on-demand delivery model known as quick commerce.

Quick E-commerce (Quick Commerce) seeks to provide customers with delivery of groceries and everyday essentials within 1-2 hours. Companies operating in this space such as Gorillas, Getir and Dija have small warehouses located close to residential areas which allows orders to be picked, packed and delivered much faster than traditional e-commerce models. Their ultra-fast delivery speeds are made possible through partnerships with delivery workers who use bikes, mopeds or small vans to navigate busy city streets quickly.
