How I managed to rock my first theatre performance from Meenu Gupta's blog

Theatrical actions are fun and collective experience for performers. However, to make a great impact on the audience, an actor has to make a proper strategy.

When my company organized a theatre play for the firm’s annual event, the manager asked the performers to have a clear target. We were suggested to focus on the characters we were playing. After that, we had to think about the background music. Since we didn’t have a big budget to get speakers, we settled for the best wireless speakers under 2000. Surprisingly, the tiny portable speakers were great help. Our play mentor told us that theatrical interventions are about two distinct audiences - guests who are watching the performance and people who look at the documentation of performances afterward. So, it’s important to make the message clear and language accessible to both these audiences. We also had to think about the visuals. Since theatrical performances contain speaking parts and well-organized scripts, creating visuals is an essential part of communicating the right message. This means that audience should be able to picture performance through actors’ actions during the play.

Following all these instructions given to us by the mentor, who was guiding us for the performance, helped me rock my performance during the play. The event went great and everyone loved my performance. I don’t know whether I’ll act again or not, but I’ll always cherish my first performance on stage.
