Those of us who follow Jesus know the importance of building with Him for the long haul.

I will suggest to you below that doing the following will help you build with Jesus:

Stay in the game.
Learn to share.
Be completely honest.
Read the Bible your way.
When down, look up!
--- Stay In The Game ---

It's a time issue: longevity. The more time you give to Jesus the more you stand to learn, grow and develop in Him.

Keep these thoughts in mind:

"I will follow Jesus today."
"I will follow Jesus tomorrow."
"I will, by His grace, follow Jesus to the grave or when I meet Him in the air."
And as you keep going...

--- Learn To Share ---

Keep striving to "bring Jesus in" to your everyday world. Put quite simply: share. Share every part of your life with Jesus: especially in prayer. Share it all, all of the time. Being down, feeling "high," and everything that goes on in between the two. Get this phrase: "Share everything possible in every possible way."

And don't forget to....

--- Be Completely Honest ---

In your sharing with Jesus, be honest: as in totally honest. Tell Jesus the not so spiritually pretty stuff. Feeling angry and frustrated in your faith? Share what you feel with Jesus. Struggling with why Jesus doesn't seem to be listening? Let Jesus know. Feeling joyful, victorious or extremely happy and blessed: Tell Jesus again. Jesus knows you... completely. He david hoffmeister  not flinch or be taken back.

By way of more than a few biblical examples, read the Psalms. Those authors shared how they felt in no uncertain terms!

And in your reading be sure to...

--- Read The Bible Your Way ---

Should we learn to study the bible and do your "due diligence" in being disciplined in your study methods? Of course we should.

However...

You may sense that something new may be needed in your devotional world. For example, you might feel a need to reflect on a single verse or a chapter for a week or even more. My thought is: do it!

Are you growing, feeling closer to the Lord, and yet feel "changing the pace" over a period of time would be beneficial to your walk with Jesus? If so, then do it!

Now one final thought to keep in mind...

--- When Down, Look Up! ---

Determine that your trials, problems and difficult times in life will push you toward Jesus instead of allowing you to allow them to be your excuses for turning away from Him. In my experience, Jesus will not give you all the answers you desire about many things in life: He will not. Pain, pressure and confusion can eat at you from the inside out with the result of causing your insides to turn away from the Savior. Do not permit that to happen.

Remember...

Run to Jesus instead of away from Jesus... for life.
