RIPE NCC is a non-profit organization that is responsible for the management and coordination of Internet number resources in Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia. They are also responsible for the registration and maintenance of Internet Protocol addresses and Autonomous System numbers. The organization was established in 1992 to manage the IPv4 address space allocated to Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia. It is one of five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) that allocate IP addresses globally. The other four RIRs are AfriNIC, APNIC, LACNIC, and ARIN.
